I am getting big margins in panes with new computer.

I bought an iMac 5K Retina. Now when I open 2 panes*, one with ASV & one with USB4, I have huge wasted space margins left & right in both panes. I can't find anyway to get rid of the wasted space & make the text wrap to the pane. *Pane: I know there are what now, workspaces, zones, & panes? I'm not really sure which it is, but when I open a workspace with a Bible text in it and one large pane, the text fills about only the center third of the screen, not wrapping to edge; then when I open a parallel text & have 2 texts, they are side by side in 2 panes, but with the 27" monitor, there are 2 inches of margin in each pane (about 8 inches of wasted space). When I open a 3rd parallel text, then the left margins all vanish, & I have only about 1/4 inch of waste space in the right of each pane (right margin). This never happened before. Of course before I was using mostly laptops with attached monitor, whereas in this case the computer & monitor are one.

There must be some way to get rid of the wasted margins.

Thanks for any help.

Preferences: Appearance: Limit text width

You can either turn it off or set it to maximum text width.

It doesn't set the margins as that would apply even with multiple panes. Rather it prevents you from having to read a single line of text that is 20 inches long, if you happen to have a single pane at full width on your beautiful new iMac. As always with Accordance, the choice is yours. The reason that the preference defaults to On is so that you are aware of it (like with many other preferences). If it didn't, you might never discover it.

Thanks. I have now made the discovery. I can see that some might want that feature.
