I have used Accordance for a very long time. I am on Yosemite 10.10.1, and have the Ultimate Collection.

I noticed that when I was scrolling over the ESV Cross References in my ESVS module, nothing was appearing in the Instant Details window, which I found odd. To contrast, when I would scroll over the asterisks in the ESVS module, the ESV translation notes (I think it's the ESV Notes module) would appear in the Instant Details window without issue.

When I went to look for the actual module, I cannot find anything.

This becomes more accentuated when I do a Search All in Accordance and I receive a dialogue window listing numerous (so many they exceed the dialogue window...) modules which are not installed or that Accordance cannot find (I am attaching the screen shot of the dialogue). post-31013-0-51132800-1421419171_thumb.pngpost-31013-0-51132800-1421419171_thumb.png

I am guessing that over the years, having updated Accordance numerous times and through several version iterations, the program has barnacles from older versions, and also some of the newer modules have been lost in the process. I am not sure what to do or how to rectify the situation, but I have finally come to the point where I am ready to do the heavy lifting of figuring it all out.

What do I need to do?

Try the "easy" way first:

-Remove all the "missing" modules from your Accordance Library pane (open the library pane in Accordance, select the module, and choose "Remove Item" from the gear menu at the bottom of the pane. When asked whether to keep the file or move it to the trash, select "keep file"

-Now, in the Library pane, click on the + button and choose "Add new module". In the pane that opens, navigate to where your modules are stored, and choose the "missing" modules, if they appear there. [Accordance should start you out in the right place, but if not, go to HARD DRIVE NAME/Library/Application Support/Accordance]

If you can't find the modules anywhere on your hard drive, try this:

-Make sure the missing modules are no longer listed in the library pane in Accordance; if they are, remove them

-Go to the Accordance menu and choose "Easy Install" after it has run, it should give you a list of modules to (re)install.

You can do this piecemeal, too, taking it a few missing modules at a time.

The preferred location of the Accordance folder is now in the user/Library/Application support, but that is invisible on new macs. Therefore you need to press option as you open the Go menu in the Finder, in order to check it.

In the Finder dialog windows you can type shift-command-g to get the Go to box
and then type ~/Library, to enter the user library.

Thanks, Helen. I thought I remembered that modules could be either place. Mine appear to be at the hard drive, not the user, level.

I am recommending copying the folder to user/Library and deleting the original: we get fewer permissions errors that way. Apple seems to prefer that in the newer systems.

Since I have more than one "user" sign on (depending on what else I'm doing at the time), I really prefer only having to keep one copy of the over 10 GB of Accordance files on my hard drive. Since this is long time standard for Unix systems I'm a bit surprised at the recommendation to copy all modules into a single user account.

This recommendation is only for users who do not need to share their Accordance between multiple user accounts. In your case, your current setup is perfectly fine. However, for a variety of reasons, it works better in the user account if there is only one Accordance-using user.
