General question about deleting outdated modules.

I have a few modules that have been updated (like photo guide) and today I noticed a user asked a question about an outdated text in a module and Helen advise him to remove it from his library.

 

That brought a question to mind: are there any modules that have upgrades where it's recommended that the user delete the old one? (ones where the content in the revision retains all the old information and adds to it?)
