Mairead Sine Posted March 13, 2015 Share Posted March 13, 2015 First let me say that I treat my computer like I do my vacuum. I don't care how it works I just want it to work. Over the last 24 hours my mac has had difficulties and today I spent eight hours on the phone with a very wonderful young woman from Apple trying to fix my computer without erasing the hard drive. Unfortuantely--yes, that's right, we had to erase the hard drive. I have not lost data (at least none that I've needed so far) but I've had to re-download (if there is such a word) some applications. Accordance was one of those applications. Tonight I went to do my evening devotions (using a book from Iona but reading scripture with my Accordance) and I typed into NRSV--Jeremiah 5 and it told me that Jeremiah does not exist. I don't know if it's tryign to tell me that Jeremiah never existed, but he's certainly not their now. I then tried NIV and Jeremiah isn't there either. I thought I'd check The Message and he's missing from there too. So.... my questions are: Where has Jeremiah gone? Will he return? Will I ever get to hear the end of his message? (Okay, okay, this is not my first reding, but I always see new things.) I have Yosemite with all the updates and Accordance 11 with all the updates. Please--help me find Jeremiah. M.J. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have tried closing down Accordance and reopening and I have also tried to restart my computer and Jeremiah did not come back. Daniel Francis Posted March 13, 2015 Share Posted March 13, 2015 This is a head scratcher.... the book of Jeremiah is in my Accordance I am not sure what has happened to excise the prophet from your Accordance. ukfraser Posted March 13, 2015 Share Posted March 13, 2015 Hi mairead, two things to try 1) have you tried searching for something else like exodus? 2) have you tried seeing if jeremiah is listed in the book selector at the bottom right corner, or scrolling through using the arrows and book If no and yes, then its to do with the way you are using search. I do not know where he was hiding but after shutting down my computer, going to bed and then trying again this morning he has returned. My only guess is that it was operator error. (Another lesson in humility.) I am glad however, to have the prophet back where he belongs. Now I can get on with seeing how events unfold. Thank you all again.
