rcdeacon
Is there a way to save your search results as a list or something else? I am just doing simple searches but would like to save my results so I could use them later. I did consult the help documents but did not find anything that addressed this directly enough. Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Bob, Are these text (bible) searches ? If so do Reference Lists do what you need ? You can title and save them. If not, perhaps creating a highlight style and highlighting the hits would work though that would perhaps overcrowd your text with highlights. You could also just save the search tab with the search string in place. That would recreate the results later when you reopen it. ThxD
rcdeacon
Thank you very much for your reply Daniel. Yes they are simple Bible searches. I will do some research on using "references list" and see if that meets the need. Thanks again. EDIT: I actually have been using "copy as" "reference" but it copies to the clipboard with no ability to save it as a file. Not sure how to do that. I want to be able to save some of my searches for future reference or inclusion into another user note. Joel Brown
Bob, you have a couple of options, depending on what you exactly mean by 'save your search results'. 1) Immediately straightforward, you can always just save your search tab containing the actual search and results, in File -> Save Active Tab. 2) What came to mind was like Daniel, a Reference List is ideal. Reference lists contain a set of specific verses. To use a reference list, simply click in a verse or select a range of verses and type Control-Command-R. This is also found under Selection menu -> Add Selection To -> New Reference List. You can keep going through your results and saving the ones you like with additional Control-Command-R presses, or select them all to save all of the verse references. When I'm preparing for teaching, I find this invaluable, as I often go through a variety of searches, and I like to collect various verses I find for future reference. You can also bookmark verses of your choice with a shift-option-click, then do Selection -> Add Marked Verses To -> New Reference List. 3) If what you want are your hits, you can highlight all of your hits by Shift-clicking on a highlight style. This will retain your found words, for use in any search tab. 4) If you want to save the words found in your hits, you should open the Analysis Analytic so you an export a list of the word results. Let me know if this helps!
rcdeacon
Joel, thanks for your helpful reply. What I want to do is save a reference list to be used repeatedly in other user notes. For instance, I did a search in Proverbs for "mouth" and when I stumble upon a verse that may be related (i.e. something with "lips" or "tongue") I want to include the references I found when I did the search for the word "mouth". I think you item 2 speaks to being able to do this I simply need to figure it out. I tried varieties of this but to no avail. I will report back on my progress. Thanks Daniel and Joel. rcdeacon
I must be pretty dense! I followed step two, bookmarked a number of verses found and did the add marked verses to new reference list. I then put a name in the blank space for description but If I close the tab I do not know how to find the reference list already made.
Helen Brown
This is an old feature. You used to be able to save the window as a Reference list, but now it's a tab so you must save the workspace or detach the Reference list to its own workspace and save that. Joel Brown
Or use Save Active Tab on the Research List.

Helen Brown
Huh? Yes, I had forgotten Save Active tab in the File menu, but what/where is the Research List?
