I use 2-3 translations in one tab. In the past when I would double click a Greek word, then the resource, in this case BDAG, would appear as another window within the tab. Very convenient. So I could view translations and BDAG side by side.

This week that no longer happens. I have not changed any preferences. And I haven’t been able to find any preference that would allow me to continue seeing the resource in the same tab.

Can anyone help?

Accordance 11.0.4

OS 10.10.2

Well, I reverted to a previous saved session and that seemed to solve my immediate problem.

But still curious about how to adjust a new session so that BDAG (et al) appear in same tab as texts.

There is a little confusion here. BDAG never appears as a pane within a search tab. It only appears in its own tab which can be in the same zone as the search tab, and therefore not visible together, or in its own zone so it is visible side by side. You can drag the tab from the main zone to the side or the botttom to create a new zone, if that is what you are looking for.

However, I wonder whether you were seeing BDAG in Instant Details. It shows up there if you press the command key (Ctrl on Windows) when hovering over a word (if BDAG is your default lexicon). You can add the Instant Details to your workspace by clicking the button on the tools bar, or from the Window menu, and you can make it a default in Preferences: Workspaces.

In this screen shot you can see several tabs on the left. (BDAG isn't open initially). But when I double click on a Greek word, then BDAG appears as part of the tab itself on the right side, so it is visible for the text and the BDAG.

The same happens when I use a Hebrew text and double click  a Hebrew word, the window for HALOT appears (as a second tab on the right, but still visible when viewing the texts on the left. side.

Notice that the Instant Details are on the bottom of the screen.

Not sure if this is normal, but very, very convenient.

Hi Rich, I suspect that the issue is that somehow recycling got turned off in the BDAG/Halot zone.

try clicking it so it stops being darker blue, and then double clicking in the text. Does that reproduce your unwanted behaviour? If so, now you know how to fix it!

Rich: you are describing normal behavior so I do not understand what the problem was. The lexicons are opening in new tabs in a separate zone.
