How to install user bible from Windows?

I'm Japanese beginner user and I like Accordance very much.

I found Japanese "Kougo-yaku" and install it to my Windows computer. And I want to use this with my iPhone 6 plus. I searched this forum and found the way for Mac but could find the way with Windows.

How can I do it?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to currently install user bibles to an iPhone without using a Mac.

Thanks Joel.

I've got it.... I have old PowerPC Mac with MacOS 9.0. Can I install Accordance to this Mac and sync user bible with iPhone?

No, sorry, you need a more recent system in order to install at least Accordance 9 on it.

Could a friend who has an Intel Mac install the demo of Accordance on a Mac and put the user Bible in it and then sync it for him? Maybe that would work if he just needs a one-time sync to have the Bible module on his iPhone. Just a thought

I don't think it will support syncing of the Bible, and I don't think it will run a Unicode bible.

Can you side load it by mounting the device as a USB drive ? I've never owned an iPhone but it is just an OS and a file system on flash and there are transfer utilities.

thx

This would only be possible with a jail broken phone and even then Accordance would not automatically recognize it was installed.

The proper solution is to add WiFi syncing support to the Windows desktop app.

Right, until WiFi syncing is added to the Windows app, I don't think it will be possible.  Unfortunately, given the restrictive nature in how it the syncing was developed on the Mac, I don't see it coming in the near future.

Ah ok thanx Scott.

@Joel, I suppose DB syncing of User Bibles (which has been proposed before) is also not a near term thing ?

Thx

Thanks all of you.

I understood the situation.

I'm thinking to buy Mac because Windows version seems like doesn't support "retina" display.....

Hello!

In Jan of 2003 Bob Kuo very kindly created a Kougo Bible for us to use on our Macs and our iOS devices.  We enjoyed them greatly!  However, some time ago something happened & we could no longer get the Kougo User Bible on our iOS devices.  Since this is the version we use continually, it's a great loss to us. I'm wondering if there may be some new options for us - to create a new User Bible, or to import it differently, or???  Can anyone help us?

IF it turns out that we choose to create a brand new User Bible, I wonder if we might be able to get all of the verses this time. For some reason several of the verses (especially in the Psalms) didn't come through on our version of the Kougo Bible, which caused verses and chapters to be staggered and not jibe with their English counterparts when looking at them on a split screen.

I've found a new source for the original files at: http://bible.salterrae.net/en/  listed under OSIS formatted files. This version offers the Japanese Colloquial Bible with Ruby readings, which might add a helpful touch for some.  I'm sure creating a User Bible is a herculean task, but I'd love to learn so I could help in the task. Can anyone help me?  Thanks so much!

You may do better to wait for the next rev of Accordance which has some features that will make your import easier. It should be out in a very few weeks.

However, you should be able to sync the older Bible from Mac to iOS without any problems. We just don't yet support synching from Windows except for highlights and user tools and notes.

My Japanese is only to count 1-10 and some few words, like Gorin-no-sho the book of the five rings from Miyamoto Musashi.

But maybe it is correct what I have done. But it is the Bungo

With Ruby

Ruby switch off over cmd+T to disable the superscripts.

But I must disable the ¶, 'cause there was to many.

Is it correct so?

Thank you for all your help and suggestions.  You've done wonderfully well with your Japanese, Fabian!  The Bungo Bible uses very old Japanese language (much older than the KJV English). The Kougo Bible uses contemporary Japanese - maybe like what was common in the 1950's when that version was made. It coincides well with the NIV.

I have a Mac Air using Yosemite 10.10.5, and an iPhone 6 using iOS 9.0.2.  When I try to sync the two to install the Kougo User Bible on my iPhone, I receive a message that says, "There was an error while Accordance tried to encode data to send to the connected device. Please contact technical support to help you resolve this issue." I can sync any other information from my Mac to my iPhone, just not the Kougo Japanese Bible.  When I contacted technical support several weeks ago, they said a new version would soon take care of this problem. I keep hopeful!
