Great Difficulty Downloading Easy Install & Module Update

After many trials, trying to download Easy Install, about 15 modules I had bought, I gave up trying to do it all at once; for it would seem to download & then install, but at the end of install it would blink. And nothing was installed.  I had to quit & reopen Accordance to bring up the modules again to try again.  I finally gave up & tried doing it one at a time, with success except with something with a name like "Basic1" which was a folder with 2 modules inside it, Mueller & Tozer.  After getting them all done except Basic 1 (which would not install),  I finally got the enclosed modules to load by opening Mueller & Tozer separately & downloading them separately.

Next I had difficulty downloading & installing module updates.  I got them all to install except TARG2-E & TARG3-E, which would not install, either on upstairs or downstairs computer.  The link supplied for further information on them goes to a no-nothing page.  My guess you already know there is some problem there & that you will get it fixed.

Yes, 11.0.6 is due out any day and will fix these issues, sorry for the hassles.

Thanks.  I learned only today that the paid update list contains free updates for some modules, like LBDA Spanish Bible.  And some require you to first trash what you already have.  I suspect that such might be the case with the TARGs -- could it be that the reason why those free upgrades will not install is because one has to trash the old Targ first? -- even though they were in the free update section.

I also only learned today that if you have a commentary set with upgrade available, it will appear in the paid upgrade dept.  I had no idea that there was a NAC-42 available including a commentary on Rev by Paige Patterson.  I suppose that after buying the upgrade, there is no point in keeping the old NAC module?

Yes, two separate issues with the upgrades: When it's a simple correction or minor update there is no problem. If we add entire new volumes to a commentary, for example, and we need to charge for the addition, we change the name of the module. It appears in paid updates, and yes, you can remove the old module, but Accordance itself will move it down in the Library, to the bottom of the section.

Occasionally a new module file is added to another module, such as the Targum Geniza Fragments to TARG-T. The only way to get that into your Accordance is through Easy Install, but we notify you of its existence by listing it as a paid upgrade, even when it is free. Then you trigger the Easy Install by removing the main module. You would be amazed how many users still have only the original TARG-T modules and not the new ones.

Are you saying that whenever you trash a module you have installed, the replacement will appear in Easy Install?  So if one accidentally trashed the NIV, the NIV would then appear in Easy Install?

Take as answer the first word of the two posts from Helen:-)

As Fabian said, yes. Yet there is a caveat. If you mean old NIV (not NIV11), then I believe not. NIV has been replaced by NIV11 and is no longer available. Similarly, NLT is no longer available, having been replaced by NLT-SE. Some modules have been superseded, so if you wish to retain them, do NOT delete them or at least keep a backup somewhere. For the vast majority of modules (texts and tools), deleting the old will result in Easy Install prompting you to download the latest version.

Thanks very much for that caution.  I pulled NIV out of the hat as an example; but I see that it is best to know that there is a replacement before you trash something.  I supposed they could be pulled out of the trash, however.  Or do deleted modules go to the Mac trash?

You are given that option when you remove from the Library within the app itself. If you manually delete the file via the Finder it goes to Trash.
