Notes

I've recently decided to use Accordance for a textual project relating to NT writers use of anterior textual sources. I followed your instructions in your help files and created a user note successfully. Now, I scratch my head as some significant limitations are obvious with your notes. Before I continue researching this project using your notes function, I would like to know whether you plan to address this issue.

Here are some problems:

1. Accordance doesn't automatically hyperlink resources. e.g., I should be able to drag text from a resource and Accordance would automatically hyperlink the text.

2. Although my project is for an English article, I write a majority of my notes in Hebrew. But this clearly is not feasible in the notes. When are you going to fix this?

3. Hyperlinks don't work. There are times when I would like to add a link to a website, but I cannot do this.

4. The font sizes keep changing. For example. my english font is set to size 14. regularly it reverts to 13. This is a nuisance.

5. There is no option for a simple list. Really?

6. There is no option for a table. Really? How can textual scholars work without the ability to list texts side by side in your app?

7. A student brought your services feature to my knowledge. I can write 4Q395 f1:1 and use the services to have it added into my word processor. Why can't this work in notes? Should this note be a core function of the notes?

8. Why doesn't the note window stay within the workspace? I work with Five workspaces. One for Tanak, one for ancient versions, one for Qumran, one for NT, and one for Rabbinics. Naturally for this project I keep my notes active in the NT workspace. but when I write a note, then switch to another workspace to copy in text (which I should be able to easily import from another text, see 7 above), the notes window is buried forcing me to recycle through the windows to get it frontmost again. This is poorly designed if you ask me.

I like your app, but I find the notes module very outdated.

We're aware of the limitations in our User Notes. We've been working on a major update to them. It won't address all your points, but you'll find the update much more robust. We hope to release it in the near future.

On that note,

I wondered if it is possible to enable the auto-correction on mac in the notes, so that it would show me misspelled words right away, and even auto-correct those that it recognizes.

I don’t know if that is possible already, but it would be nice to have,

By the way, great app for studying the Bible. I can do so much more than I would actually need to, which is a lot of fun!
