David Knoll
Thank you! Will they be added in the near future?
Robert Holmstedt
I have hesitated to add any of the new K.Q. texts to the Accordance module since there is no consensus on the readings yet. To wit, I recently heard one of the primary early alphabet scholars argue that the first K.Q. ostracon was written top-to-bottom! Until there is greater agreement on the readings of the texts (not the letters so much, but the interpretation of the letters into words, etc.), I will not likely include these new ostraca for the database, which by nature includes a number of layers of interpretation I am as of yet uncomfortable making. I trust that make sense.
David Knoll
First of all thank you for your reply. For some reason I did not get notified by mail that a reply had been added. Can these texts be added as is, in other words without morphology? I doubt whether anyone will ever be able to decipher the first one with absolute certainty (Do you think it's Hebrew?). Robert Holmstedt
Yes, I could add the texts without morphology and syntax layers. Hebrew? How about I agree that it's Semitic of a north-westerly kind? :-) Edited July 11, 2015 by Robert Holmstedt
