Creating links to a page, section, or paragraph in a book?

Logo's appears to have exported a way to create HTML links into books, by doing something like this:

    logosres:explornt01;ref=Page.p_306

Can I achieve this in accordance, so that I can link from my notes into Accordance resources. It would save me a lot of time.

Something like : accord://search/LSJ;Page%20Numbers?24 in Word, Libreoffice, Zotero etc.etc. ?

Check out the docs. You can basically cause a search on any searchable field in a resource.

That is neat! It doesn't mention how to jump to page numbers. Based on your example above, and just picking a random page from a random resource, I am testing something like this:

accord://read/Bible%20Speaks%20Today-NT;Page%20Numbers?24

It doesn't jump to a page number, but instead jumps to a heading that has 24 in it. Any ideas for how to jump to page numbers?

Thanks!!

Ok you need to look at the fields in the particular resource. To do that open a search tab with that resource (BST). The in the search box there is a blue lozenge. In a bible text you can select Verses or Words. In a tool it will vary. Whatever items are shown in the pull are valid search fields. Substitute %20 for any spaces.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. "Page numbers" does appear in the dropdown box, It appears I need to use uppercase "PAGE NUMBERS" in the URL. Now I just need to work out how to make it go to (for example) [Luke, Page 10] instead of [Matthew, Page 10].

It appears when there are multiple books in a commentary series, it doesn't know which book to go to. So now I have:

accord://read/Bible%20Speaks%20Today-NT;PAGE%20NUMBERS?69

When I try this, it doesn't work:

accord://read/Bible%20Speaks%20Today-NT;PAGE%20NUMBERS?Acts,%20Page 69

When I try this, it jumps to page 66, not page 69?!

accord://read/Bible_Speaks_Today-NT;PAGE%20NUMBERS?Acts%2069

I don't have BST but I suspect the problem may be the short form name. For example I used LSJ for "Liddell, Scott, Jones (Unabridged)". It doesn't work with the full name - I had to use the the abbreviation. Now, how to find that for BST ? Try looking in the library. The abbreviation shows up under the name. Or guess and try BST which would be my first guess. I am not sure if the fields etc. are case sensitive but I've always copied the case exactly. So perhaps : accord://read/BST;Page%20Numbers?24

If not someone else will need to chime in I'm afraid.

Thx

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.  I think you've definitely answered the question. My problem now is a very specific issue of how to link within commentaries. I'll start a new thread.

If you add a # to the end, you can specify an exact paragraph number.  When viewing a tool, simply click on the "Page _ of _" text to change it to "Paragraph _ of _", and use that paragraph number at the end.  Example:

accord://read/Bible_Speaks_Today-NT#5275

I would like to create a link to  page 1087 in The Torah: A Modern Commentary.

Can you please spell out the detail how to do this?

I looked in the HELP but I'm stil confused.

The easiest way is to perform a page number search for 1087 in the module. Then, right-click on your search in the search entry box and select "Copy as User Tool Link". Then simply paste the link into your User Tool.

This seems to create text, not a URL that you can paste in (for example) powerpoint.

Only for User Tools or User Notes in Accordance.
