Abram K-J
2008 MacBook, OS 10.10.2, Accordance 11.0.7. I type CMD-U in a Bible verse to open and edit a User Note. I close the User Note, which was not previously open in my workspace, and then it jumps into its own new zone. In Preferences/User Files, "Open parallel pane when editing" is unchecked. Why won't the User Note just stay closed until I tell it to re-open after I update it and close it? Interestingly: this only happens like this if the way I close the User Note (something Joel recommended to me a long time ago) is via CMD-W, with Update (by pressing enter), so I can do the whole editing process via keyboard shortcuts. If I click Update then close with the red circle/x, it doesn't open the User Notes file in a new zone. Edited August 29, 2015 by Abram K-J
Joel Brown
Abram, this is sort of interesting. You can still use keyboard shortcuts, just do Cmd-S first and then Cmd-W. It seems that there is some old logic where using the Alert ("Are you sure you want to....?") means we want to show the user notes tab. We'll look into whether we want to keep this logic or not, but you can just do Cmd-S - W, and you'll be fine in the meantime.
