Unix
I suppose specializing in the Gospel of John among other things (having just written on Facebook and Twitter about GJn print commentary purchases I've made this Week), I need commentaries on 1-3 Jn as well. The WBC volume I'm going to get now, is: Stephen Smalley (2010). 1-3 Jn. http://www.accordancebible.com/store/details/?pid=WBC-John+EpistlesOther commentaries I have on this part of the Bible include: AYBC by Raymond Brown, 1983 in Accordance, and I, II, III John by Judith M. Lieu, 2008 in print, Believers Church Bible Commentary by McDermond, 2011 in competing software, Hermeneia (both volumes, the old Bultmann volume and the Georg Strecker 1996) in competing software, Eerdmans Critical Commentary (2 vols.) (ECC) by Urban C. Von Wahlde, 2010 in competing software, Baker NTC by Kistemaker, 1986 in competing software, Johannine Letters by A. E. Brooke, 1912 in competing software, The Johannine Epistles by William Loader, 1992 in print, New Interpreter's Bible by C. Clifton Black, 1998 in Accordance, Paideia by George L. Parsenios, 2014 in both Accordance and the competing software, and finally UBS (Translator's) Handbook by C. Haas, M. De Jonge, J. L. Swellengrebel, 1972 in Accordance bought used (by PM on the Accordance forums for $90 + license transfer fee).Accordance has I, II, III John by Judith M. Lieu, 2008 on the list of commentaries likely to get.I trust that Accordance gives much better service and functionality. I've been let down big time by competing software: they don't seem to be correcting a Sales-error on their part, I specified by both email and on the phone what I wanted and what I didn't want, I will unfortunately even have to contact their CEO as they don't seem to have any kind of readiness to correct the kind of error. I had begun preferring Accordance a year ago anyway. The same error wouldn't even happen with Accordance. Only thing I worry about is can I be an academic customer again at any point half a year or later from now?I'm not going back to placing any new orders in competing softwares. Comments? And is there any need to start a thread on the Word Biblical OT volumes?Previously edited by Unix, Today, 03:00 PM: error, + a missing year published, + 2 commentary series I forgot.Last edited by Unix, Today Sept. 13. 3:20 PM local time: forgot yet another series Edited September 13, 2015 by Unix
Unix
I did finally buy the WBC 1-3 Jn volume by Smalley during the sale. I added three other NT -volumes as well. My question: is there anyone who wants to know what WBC volumes I have, both OT and NT? I would start a new thread if there's anyone who'd like to know what I have in the series and possibly share what they have in it!: I suppose specializing in the Gospel of John among other things (having just written on Facebook and Twitter about GJn print commentary purchases I've made this Week), I need commentaries on 1-3 Jn as well. The WBC volume I'm going to get now, is: Stephen Smalley (2010). 1-3 Jn. http://www.accordancebible.com/store/details/?pid=WBC-John+EpistlesOther commentaries I have on this part of the Bible include: [...] [...]Last edited by Unix, Today Sept. 13. 3:20 PM local time: forgot yet another series EDIT: I keep forgetting to mention that I have the Reading the New Testament - John and Johannine epistles (Reading the New Testament -series) by Charles H. Talbert, 1992, in a third software. It seems like another software doesn't even carry it. Edited October 8, 2015 by Unix
