Jim Meek
This morning I searched the LXX for Isa 63:19 and saw only the first half of the verse in the parallel columns for the NETS and NIV. English versions apparently divide Isa 63:19 in the LXX and MT into 63:19 and 64:1, and the English versions then renumber the verses in Isa 64.I'm used to verse numbering differing from one text or version to another, but I'm not used to half of a verse disappearing. I tried searching the LXX and MT for Isa 63-64 with the same result (no 63:19b=64:1 English). The only way I got the "missing" verse was by searching an English version.Accordance does fine matching up differently numbered verses and handles a "missing" chapter (e.g., Pss 9-10 MT & NIV = Ps 9 LXX). Shouldn't a search for Isa 63:19 bring up the whole verse in parallel texts, even if one verse has been divided into two?
Helen Brown
This is the way that our verse matching has always worked. If a verse appears to be missing in a parallel pane, make it the search text or check its context for the missing verses. We have tried to come up with a way to show that a verse is "missing" from the primary text, but haven't yet found a feasible way to do it.
