Does Tov's volume entitled The Textual Criticism of the Hebrew Bible include the material in The Textual Critical Use of the Septuagint?

Helen,

Thank you for your response.  I did see both items in the blog post and that is why I asked if they overlapped.

Without having these in front of me to check, off the top of my head, the latter goes far more in-depth with the Septuagint than the former. If you are really interested in material on the Seputagint and text criticism, but only need an overview, TC of the Hebrew Bible will suffice. But if you want greater detail, the latter is its own valuable work.

I'll be in front of my print copies of each later today if you want to ask more about either.

“Text Critical Use of the LXX” spends considerable time discussing the process of reconstructing the Hebrew Vorlage of the LXX as well as the criteria for deciding when to reconstruct variants. Both of these are closely related to understanding the translation technique of individual units of the LXX. Although it’s been a while since I read TCHB and I read the prior edition, I think very little of this overlaps.

I was going to answer your question, but I see that Abram and Susan have already said everything that I was going to say...
