Fabian
Hello I would love to see more coherence between the german Bible Book names. For example the Schlachter 2000 has english and german Bible Book names, but the Elber-LEM has only german. Thats not the problem. The problem is that the two german versions differs. So I must every time think about which version I have as search Bible. Otherwise I have to write again. For me this is in the most case. Thats very annoying. For example In Elber-Lem "Apg" for acts is working but not in Schlachter 2000. There I have to write Apostel or Acts. And there are more like this. In the average 50% of the Bibles are on the one side and the other 50% in the other. Please give all German Bibles the same. Best all the same like the Elber-LEM or Luther-LEM 84. If this was happen in english Bibles, you had it adjusted before 19 years. It's really very annoying (nervtötend). Greetings Fabian A small step for Accordance, but a big for the German users. Rick Bennett
Fabian, We do apologize for the confusion. Here's a bit of an explanation on things: A few years ago we started developing Bibles with their 'native' language book names instead of English. However, we found out after-the-fact that this caused a lot of issues in Accordance for syncing of other resources and adding User Notes; quite simply nothing synced correctly at all! So, we made the decision to re-release all Bibles with English book names as primary, but with the option to view the 'native' book names in Accordance via a Display preference (unchecking the 'Use English book names' in advanced display preferences). This would allow for the book names to display in the text and be searchable, and also allow for syncing with any other Bible, User Note, or Reference Tool. And with 11.1.3 we now also support displaying the native book name in the GoTo box. However, we noticed just with this forum post that some of our German Bibles slipped through the cracks and were never updated with the above mentioned new standard. The recent updates we just released now correct this. We realize that one limitation is that we do not currently support displaying abbreviations for texts in their native language, nor searching for those abbreviations (assuming that the abbreviation is not the the first part of the native book name, which will work in a search). We may address this in the future, but I cannot say at this point when that will be. I hope this helps to explain things.
Fabian
Hello Rick Many thanks for your explanation: Mark Allison has now most changed to the English book names as first. The ones which is still not in this way are the NR06 and the SEG21. The English is now double. In full book names and in the abbreviation. Thats good if Accordance is able to display all four names. 1. English full 2. English abbreviated 3. Source full 4. Source abbreviated But it seems Accordance can only 3 book names. Even the checkboxes would allowed all 4 options. So if the all 4 options is not possible I would love if only one English is taken and the "old" abbreviated source is taken. A comparison in images: The Zürcher which is now on the new mode. With 2 English and only one German. And the old versions which is no to change: I would prefer if we had the full and the abbreviated in the language of the Bible and not the English. If not all 4 options all possible. This would make for us (non english speaker) much more sense. Greetings Fabian Edited October 6, 2019 by Fabian

And this feature is requested also for the Imported Bibles. Fabian
