Anthony Sepulveda
Hello, I'm not sure if there's already a way to directly open and consult the default Hebrew and Greek dictionaries that I've set (placed first in the list). Every time I wanted to consult a word that is similar to one I've encountered in the bible text (to check for 'false friends', related words, or glitches in my vocabulary memorization), I have to open the library window and double-click on the dictionary, or type its title ('bdag'/'halot') in the search box, before I can actually start typing in a Greek or Hebrew word to check. I think it would be great to have a shortcut key combination to instantly open the default Greek or Hebrew dictionary for quick consultation of any word that comes to mind, and not just the ones that are right there in the text I'm currently reading. Thanks.
farcas
Check out mac shortcut keys and create your own. Every text and tool is in the menu bar so it can be triggered with your own shortcut key. Hopped helps.
Anthony Sepulveda
Does this have a Windows counterpart?
Λύχνις Δαν
Hey Anthony, A few thoughts. Are you aware of the Amplify feature where you can triple click on the word and it will bring up your lexicon of choice having already done the search for the word ? You could then just edit the search string to add wildcards and such. I don't know how big your screen is but if big enough you could have a lexicon pane open next to the reading pane all the time. Another alternative might be to have a lexicon in another workspace behind your current one. You can then use the CMD-` to cycle between them. You can save such a multi-workspace session. Ah: you're on windows - the shortcut does not seem to exist on Windows as it's got one less control key. Thx D Edited February 13, 2016 by Daniel Semler
Λύχνις Δαν
Ok went to Windows installation. You can get the same effect by alt-tab between the two workspace windows. Thx D
Anthony Sepulveda
Okay; I guess that'd be the best way through it, for now. Thanks!
