I did a word search on נגד and found 489 occurrences, but would like to narrow it down to the152 occurrences of  ‏(נגד) נֶגֶד in front of, opposite. How do I do that? Thanks.

 

Total number of verses = 489

  (total number of verses displayed = 489) 

 

נֶגֶד (525 total words)

 

Number of different forms = 4:

 

‏נגד‎ to tell, declare = 371

‏(נגד) נֶגֶד in front of, opposite = 152

‏(נגד) נגד־0 to flow = 1

(נגד) נֶגֶד־0 toward = 1

The easiest way is to search for a exact inflected form. Type נגד in the Search Entry box and Quick Entry will give you a choice of an unpointed form and four pointed forms. Choose the second pointed form: נֶגֶד=

Hi Catherine, Dr J is absolutely right (of course), but let me give you a couple of other little tips about how to do this.

 

First, note that in order to find 525 hits, you must have done a root search (see the + in front of נֶגֶד in my screenshot below?)

 

 

Find an example of the word you want in the results, I have chosen Gen 2:20.

 

 

Then ctrl-click the word and choose “search for => lexeme” (please ignore the red double ended arrow in this pic)

 

 

That will find ONLY the word you want to find.

 

 

Or you can do it by hand by copying the lexeme from the analysis pane, pasting it in the search bar and adding = in front of it like this.
