kpang808
Hello, I just purchased Accordance a month ago! I currently have the Advanced Collection. I was wondering if you all had some recommendations for a Hebrew and Greek Lexicon to use. Preferably one that is included in my current collection, because I just spent close to $1000. I am excited to learn more about Accordance, after switching from a bad experience with Logos.
Dieudonne
I like these three. BDB would come first, second would be Concise DCH, then Jenni-Westermann. 1) BDB Complete Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon (Complete) 2) Concise DCH Concise Dictionary of Classical Hebrew 3) Jenni-Westermann Theological Lexicon of the Old Testament (Jenni, Westermann) Edited February 4, 2016 by Dieudonne

Ken Simpson
As for Greek, the current standard is BDAG, but it is not in your Advanced collection (but it is in the Ultimate), and as a $159 add on to your Advanced, it is not cheap. The BDAG/HALOT bundle is arguably (go on argue with me) the current scholarly standard for Biblical research, but at $299 is even more expensive, though much cheaper than buying them individually ($159+$199=$358). People will probably disagree with me, but Louw-Nida would be my next pick. It isn’t as exhaustive (or exhausting) as BDAG, but is more modern (in a sense) in the way it is organised - by semantic domain rather than by simple alphabet. This means when you look up a word it drops you into a region of synonyms in the lexicon. Very handy. Personally I like LSJ as a classicist, but BDAG is certainly better for NT and other early Christian literature as that is what it was designed for.
kpang808
Thanks Ken! I do appreciate your opinion. I have to say that I have invested (in such a short span of time) the upgrade to Ultimate. As I feel it would be a good investment for BDAG and HALOT, plus some other good resources.
Ken Simpson
OK. Yes ultimate is pretty good! And excellent value for money - if you have the money! Enjoy and ask away. We love helping
