Addition of further variety of theological/historical perspective in Accordance modules 3. The icons section--can't wait to see it! 4. Having another English translation of the Greek LXX Also was grateful for your brief exposition of the Resurrection icon. Though I am a Congregational minister, I just put that icon on the pulpit last week (facing out toward the congregation) for the Easter season! I have seen more than a few complaints against this study Bible but I have found it time and gain to be a great source of information and a most valuable addition to my reference works. It is the first and currently only Study Bible we have in english from the Orthodox perspective. I have heard of another one being worked on but one never knows if something will ever see a release (I well remember talking to people at the lockman foundation who were excitedly talking about a study Bible they had commissioned that had been fully written and that they were just waiting to update it to the current 1995 update, I spent years looking for it but never saw it come out). Solly Posted April 4, 2016 Share Posted April 4, 2016 I especially appreciate the liturgical notes that relate specific readings to the yearly cycle of prayer and worship. As I work through the comments and notes, I pause and reflect on these liturgical notes and ponder how the liturgical calendar makes possible a learning of the scripture by methods that are often described in the best practices of modern effective teaching. I am learning to respect the wisdom of the past and confess a spirit of arrogance that favors the trendy and new with little respect for those who have long ago plowed the fields of humanity's difficult questions and planted crops if insight and understanding, which we moderns disdain. Lord, have mercy! It is good to have ones thoughts pushed in directions that deepen and strengthen faith as previous understandings are challenged. I decided that since it was on sale (for a great price, by the way!), I'd go ahead and add it here too. I am so glad I did! It's given me an excuse to get more familiar with Accordance, and I like it a lot better than Olive Tree now.
