romans6
Hello, I understand that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd declension can be determined by their endings in Greek but I was wondering why the Instant Details was not displaying whether each noun was 1st, 2nd, or 3rd declension? Is there a way to enable the Instant Details to display the declension? Thanks!
Timothy Jenney
I don't recall that we've ever had a request for this, but I'd think it would be easy enough to add—if enough people think it would be useful.
romans6
That would be awesome, especially as someone new to Greek in Greek 2 class. Either way even in the future I think it would be nice if I get rusty on my Greek. My professor always makes us parse nouns as: Declension, Class, Gender, Number, Lexical Form. So I was thrown off for a few minutes when I did not see the declension. It is funny because he made us remember it as DC Gone Nuts Lets Flee. He always makes us remember verbs as T (tense) V (voice) Makes (Mood) People (Person) Nuts (Number) Lets Flee (Lexical Form). But yeah, Timothy, it would be great if this was possible! I am loving Accordance so far, already thinking about upgrading to the Essential! Edited April 20, 2016 by romans6
Timothy Jenney
Glad you are enjoying the program! You do know that we recommend using Accordance to check your parsing, right? Not as a substitute for learning to parse on your own—including memorizing the various conjugations and declensions.
romans6
Haha, absolutely! Yeah, I would fail the class if I didn't for sure. I have flash card stacks everywhere on my desk and am afraid that they are going to swallow me alive. On our last exam I have to translate 1John 1-2 and then parse anything that he decides he wants us to parse. My least favorite so far have been participles, they should be considered a dirty word!
