It is a pain cutting and pasting the NIV text into readings for Sunday, and then having to go through and check it's the same as our pew Bibles. Once people knew, i didnt get any complaints. If anyone did, get them to edit it, who knows, there may be enough that they can form a rota. But the number of words and spelling diferences are so minor in the scheme of things. Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be a greater spread of Accordance if more Bibles are available. Especially if I think about the VouVersion App with the most downloads. Greetings Fabian I already have bibles in the YouVersion, Accordance is better. It's true I miss not having the NIV85, Logos also does allow you to get the older and newer UK and US versions, although you have to jump through some hoops, but you can get it (at least you could get them at the time I was using Logos). However the fact that you can get them all inside Logos, might be a result of their website not implementing publisher restrictions properly, I'm not sure. I would love to understand why publishers like to restrict the older versions, it makes it seem to me that there is some sort of political agenda. However more likely it is a profit driven agenda, they would want the 85 edition to be completely out of relevance by the time the copyright expires in various countries. (Although TTIP requiring a consistent 70 year copyright term will perhaps ease this somewhat). PS: TTIP is evil, trying to push these things on other countries is evil, As far as practical I will boycott anything from the US. A very Strange World: If I say or write something its from 70 to 100 years protected. But If I develop something which cost a lot of money the patent is only protected 25 years. Greetings Fabian PS.
