Ιακοβ
I suspect the text highlighted is wrong, but I don't have a paper version of this book to confirm. Does anyone have the paper version of this handy to confirm or deny this? (The nearest bookshop where I could check this is a one hour drive away). Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Ιακοβ, The νσι is correct. The ν drops out due to the following σ and the vowel lengthens to compensate so you get λυουσι in the third plural. Mounce Morhphology of Biblical Greek gives the details. Thx D
Abram K-J
The last letter in this Google Book excerpt is cut off, but I think you were asking about the first ν anyway.

Ιακοβ
The last letter in this Google Book excerpt is cut off, but I think you were asking about the first ν anyway. Neat, I need to learn how to do that! It is correct. Thanks Rick, this way of forming the greek endings is new to me, and the Accordance Hebrew textbook I am using has three mistakes in tables (that I have found so far), so I wasn't sure. Abram K-J
Neat, I need to learn how to do that! I just took part of the phrase in question and Googled it with quotation marks--often that will lead you to a Google excerpt or Amazon look inside.
