Reading a bible's introductory sentences.

I wonder if it is possible to get to the text that comes at the start of the normal printed bible edition? I know scrolling up doesn't get you past Genesis 1:1, and the "About this text" dropdown only gives you a simple popup. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

This sort of question comes up from time to time. It's not always present in the etexts or digital editions alas. Often though it's packaged in a companion module. For example the NIV 2011 and NIV 2011 Notes. Never having owned a print NIV I cannot comment on the completeness of the material but it looks pretty complete.

So which bible are you looking at this for or is it just a general question ?

Thx

I find that the Notes files under the Translators Notes portion of the library usually contain the front matter of the various translations. Two that surprised me were the NLT 2nd ed (no front matter) and NRSV (some of the front matter). As Daniel stated, it appears to depend on the publisher.
