Windowing Problems

I'm running Accordance 11.2.1 on a MBP (early 2015 13" 1 TB ssd, 8 gig RAM) running OS X 10.11.5. I'm having a problem resizing Accordance windows. If I try to resize a window in Accordance, I can't shrink a window, I can only enlarge them. I've lost the ability to control how wide windows become. Once I start enlarging, the window will become much wider than the mouse pointer, often becoming wider than my monitor. I'm usually in a dual monitor configuration (my laptop and a 4k monitor). The same behavior happens on either monitor as well as times when the laptop is disconnected from the external monitor. I first experienced this last week and had hoped that perhaps the last release would address whatever is broken.

Suggestions?

Wow.....this problem has rendered Accordance unusable for me. I'm glad its not effecting anyone else but it means that Accordance is at best a boat anchor for me.

In Settings there is a Limit window size of new workspaces.

Also using Full Screen or Split Screen mode tends to make accordance usable, albeit (near) exclusive.

Did you try that?

Does this problem happen with every workspace? If you close all your workspaces and open a new one, does the window resize problem still occur?

Thank you for the suggestions. I've toggled the Limit Window Size of New Workspace setting to no avail. The problem isn't when a new workspace is opened, it is any time I try to resize it. Touch a window border and click and the window automatically doubles in width, usually extending beyond the computer screen. I'm not in Full Screen or Split Screen mode. It happens every time to every workspace opened on any monitor I have. It also happens when my laptop is disconnected my 4k external monitor. Accordance is the only program with this problem and its new in the last three weeks.

Clint, can you .zip and post the workspace?

Generally when this happens one of your panes or tabs is set to really narrow and preventing you from reducing the size of your workspace.  You could try looking through the tabs and zones to see which one can't be compressed.

Joel,

Winner, winner chicken dinner! It was the Instant Details pane, which I usually detach and float in its own window or turn off. It was on and docked horizontally in all of the effected workspaces. Turned it off, and everything is fine. Adjust it giving it just a little more space and everthing works. So now I have to go back to work?

Thank you.

  • 1 year later...

HI: I am just now reading this topic. I am using Mac Sierra, 12.6.  I do NOT need Accordance to "open" in full screen mode, but I do need Accordance to move to "FULL SCREEN". I know that this is probably something very basic, but I have gone to FAQ, and even the index -- and there is nothing that seems to answer my question.

NOTE: I am on vacation, using my lap top. Usually at home, I have a large monitor such that I do not use full screen. If someone can help me: I promise to write this down so that: when I take my next vacation: I can enter "full screen", hopefully without bothering anyone.

Again: I do not need Accordance to start in FULL SCREEN -- I just want to get to FULL SCREEN. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Command-click the green circle in the upper left corner of the Accordance window. This works in other programs too. To go out of full screen click the green circle again.
