mpratt
I'm new to Accordance and trying to learn how and when to use Stand-alone Commands. Can someone provide me with a few examples of how this search function works? (Link, contents, hits...etc.)
Helen Brown
Please see chapter 8 of the User's Guide for detailed examples, especially at the end of the chapter. If you do not have the Guide for 7.4 you can download it here.
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
Helen is correct that the User's Guide is a great resource. Since I had cause to use some of these commands, today, I can give you a simple example. I was working with an online commentary that connected 2Peter 1:19 and John 5:35. I knew from the comments that the connection involved the word "lamp" (λύχνος), but I thought it be implying more words in common. So I set up the following windows/tabs: GNT-T2 (numbered 2 only because I had another, unrelated, GNT-T tab open)-set to search Words * <AND> [RANGE 2Peter 1:19] GNT-T2 (set to search Words) [HITS GNT-T 2] <AND> [RANGE John 5:35] This quickly marked the words in common between the two verses.
