Combining CONTENTS and COUNT commands
Posted 04 March 2009 - 03:06 PM
Here's the basic set-up: I have a text tab (NOT a search tab) named Epistle, currently displaying Romans 4:13-25. There are three panes in the tab: NRSV, GNT-T, and NET, in that order. Text order is set to GNT-T.
I created a new search tab, set to GNT-T, and entered the following command:
[CONTENTS Epistle] <AND> [COUNT 2-10] @-([ARTICLE] ,[CONJUNCTION] , [PREPOSITION], [PARTICLE], [PRONOUN])
The search runs, but none of the words found occur 2-10 times within Romans 4:12-25. All the words identified occur only once in that range.
I notice that if I change the range in the drop-down, the hits change. Would I be correct that this is because using CONTENTS with COUNT has the same effect as using RANGE with COUNT? (In terms of how the count applies to the assigned range).
The goal of the search is to find repeated words (aside from articles, pronouns, etc.) in the given pericope. So far the only way I've found to do this is to create a temporary range in the dropdown. Is there a better way to do this?
