Christopher
I think this is a small request, but it would be very helpful to me. It would be great if the drop-down "File" menu had an option, "Open recent file." I make workspaces for the various Bible studies I teach, as well as for each Sunday and festival in the liturgical year, and some of them I save on iDisk, while others are on whichever Mac I'm working on, so having an "Open recent" command would simplify things a great deal for me. Thanks for considering this. +Christopher Esget
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
I would like to see this as well. Lorinda

Lorinda H. M. Hoover
This works well for some things, but it does not work for some of what I would use Open Recent for. Like Christopher Esget, I create workspaces for every Sunday in the liturgical year. Since I follow the Revised Common Lectionary, this means we are talking about over 150 workspaces over the course of the 3 year RCL cycle. Having this many workspaces in Favorites would be unworkable. But there are times when it would be nice to look up last week's workspace. Or I might be working on a sermon and a Bible study over the course of a week; open recent would make it easier to switch back and forth between those workspaces during the week. I could temporarily add workspaces to Favorites and them remove them, but that is a lot of work for workspaces I'd only need to access for a relatively short period of time. Mike Garrity
I think this is a great idea. I wanted to let you know that there is a way to simulate this function by using Smart Folders (at least in Leopard). To setup a smart folder that looks for Accordance documents that were opened within the last 3 months I selected the 'Find...' menu item in Finder (command-F). I chose kind = com.OakTree.Accordance.document Last opened date = within last 3 months Then I hit the Save button in the upper right and saved this search as Accordance Documents. This search was saved to user/Library/Saved Searches folder. I navigated to this folder and dragged 'Accordance Documents' to my sidebar under Places. The folders in the Places sidebar are available when you select File > Open.. in Accordance. I did not experiment with saving searches on other computers but this could be a very flexible workaround while waiting on a future revision of Accordance. Mike PS. Lorinda, I am not sure if this works on Tiger (if you have not updated to Leopard yet)
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
Thanks Mike. It does work in Tiger, with a few caveats: -When setting the kind, the spinning beach ball appears and stays for a long time while it pulls up all the 'other' options, even when I pasted in the right one. [i finally walked away and did something else for a few minutes to let it work its way through]-the initial search in the Smart Folder takes well over a minute. Which is why I gave up on smart folders early on. But subsequent searches don't take that long, as long as the search parameters for the Smart Folder aren't changed.-Accordance crashed once when I tried to open a file using the smart folder. But this was while the smart folder was doing its initial search. Subsequently i was able to get it to work. Lorinda
