V. Philips Long
I know many Accordance users also use Mellel. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, I find that I cannot Save or Save As any Mellel files. Has anyone else experienced this problem, know its cause, or have any solutions? Thanks, Phil
Robb B
I have used Mellel with Snow Leopard and have not had any problems with saving. Is this happening with new documents, or with documents created in leopard that you are updating? Phil, I just noticed Redlex posted a Mellel update yesterday with 10.6 compatibility. Have you downloaded it and checked to see if it fixes your problem?

Until yesterday I was not having any problems saving either. Then, the function simply stopped working. Now when I try to create a new document in Mellel and save it, it goes through the standard procedure, asking for name, etc., but then does not rename or save the document. It's the same when I use "save as". I've sorted out an awkward work around. Work on a document in Mellel, export regularly to RTF in lieu of saving (for safety), continue to work in Mellel. The Hebrew is reversed in the RTF file but corrects itself when I import back into Mellel. When I'm done, though, I'll not be able to send an intact Mellel document to a publisher, until I sort out the save probelm. In other words, I can keep writing, but I'll not be able to submit a MS. Still working on it, and waiting to hear from Mellel. Thanks, Phil

Thanks, Phil To any who've experienced that same problem I had with Mellel after installing Snow Leopard, here's a fix that worked for me (thanks to Mellel support). A. Write down your registration details (from Mellel, choose Mellel (menu) > Registration code). Quit Mellel. B. Go to ~/Library/Preferences/ and remove the file com.redlex.mellel.plist C. Go to ~/Library/Application support/ and remove the Mellel folder there. D. Run Mellel again. Shalom, Phil
