Feature Requests - User Notes

I would like to see a couple enhancements to the user notes.

1. I would like to be able to use user tool links in user notes.

2. I would like user notes to handle verse references more intelligently. For example, if I have a note for Psalm 5:2, and in my note I put something like, "This follows from v. 1..." or "The Psalmist sets up a comparison with vv. 4-5..." Accordance would be able to link those notations to the current book/chapter. The standard syntax could be v. n (where n=any number) for a single verse in the same chapter as the note, or vv. n-n for multiple verses within the same chapter. The same type of thing with the current book would be nice. So if I have a note on Matthew 5:12, and in my note I have text like, "This is similar to Jesus statement in other places in Matthew's gospel (cf. 2:4; 7:6; 21:1)" it would be amazing if I could make a link out of references without a book name and the user notes assumed the book was the same as the book in which the note is located.

O Robb! If you only knew how hard it is for us to correctly identify these links in regualr tools, and how many complaints we get when they are not linked or linked incorrectly! I'm afraid you are dreaming.

We plan a new kind of User Tool that would be a user reference tool, and no doubt it will inherit many of the features of current user tools.

Helen,

This is fantastic news! Thank you for your listening ear and for the action that seems to follow diligently.

A new kind of tool sounds like a full version upgrade type of feature, like version 9. But it sounds promising, even if it sounds some ways away. The great thing about the current set of tools is that they are still the best around, so it's tough to complain.
