I want to be able to search, copy, and paste verses into Word documents. However, these paragraph symbols apear and paste into the word document. How do I remove them? Is there a way to do it?

If you set the display the Paragraphs the symbols will not appear. That's the only way to exclude them from your copy and paste.

If you still need to keep the display set to put each verse on its own line, you can do a Find/Replace quick enough on the result. You can get the pilcrow symbol

James,

What word processor are you pasting into?

Are you using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard? If so, I can talk you through creating a Service that will paste the clipboard contents after removing all Pilcrows

James,

The cleanest solution for you, then, is to simply create a custom command in Word 2008 that will strip the formatting and all occurrences of "¶ " from the clipboard and then paste it. Here is a tutorial walking you through just how to do that:

Create a Custom Paste Command in Word 2008

(Let me know how it works)

Joe, you are THE MAN!
True.
The only hitch I found was pasting the code into AppleScript Editor. You have to click "compile" for the colors to appear.
It will also compile when you save it.
Ok, one last thing since it might apply here. I'm pasting verses from 1st and 2nd Corinthians. Is there any way to change, whether in Accordance or AppleScript, the reference to "1C 1:1" instead of "1Cor. 1:1"?
Yes you can. Basically, you can have the applescript do nearly anything you want to with the text. You can have the script replace all 1Cor. with 1C, 1Thes. with 1T, but then what about 1Timothy? So, you'll have to think through your replacement scheme.

Then, see if you can't google applescript resources and jump in head first, learning some code.
