Husky54 Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 So I'm trying to use Rosetta to do some transliteration in a paper. The character I'm having particular trouble with is the narrow macron that should appear over letters such as the "dotless i." The key command to enter the narrow macron over such characters should be (per the Accordance Fonts pdf) "option-u/a." However, whenever I type "option-u" I automatically get an umlaut. The same is true for the breve ("option-u/i"). Is there a workaround to fix this or is there just no way for me to be able to access the narrow macron? It seems to be an automatic character substitution, as I am automatically reverted to Times New Roman when I type "option-u," even if it is after the dotless i, as it should be. The only workaround I can find at this point is if I type the narrow macron over the dotless i in Accordance and then copy/paste into Word. What if you created a "scratch pad" user tool in Accordance, composed your text there, and pasted into Word? I would think that would keep Word from making the text substitution.
