mark Lee
I want to rename some of my note files and user tool flies. I've tried Library Window and directly from the Accordance Files from Finder, but it didn't work. Are there any easier ways to rename those files? Thank you for your help. Helen Brown
It may seem a little cumbersome, but you must remove the files from the Library window, rename them in the Finder (Accordance Files), and then add them back to the Library.

MicheleS
It may seem a little cumbersome, but you must remove the files from the Library window, rename them in the Finder (Accordance Files), and then add them back to the Library. Having had to do a workaround for this sort of renaming in other software, I just used the SAVE AS and gave the user tool here and my User Notes here different names when I realized I wanted a rename. Then I see that that works, and go and remove the old files with the old names from the Accordance folder. Seems faster and easier that way. Hope this is useful to someone. KevinSoars
Thank you, Helen, thank you Michelle. I am either not understanding well or not doing properly what is suggested (both more than possible!), but I have tried removing a file "grail' from the Library window, renaming it "The Grail Psalms" in the Finder and then adding it back to the Library and I get the following message: "A Module with the name 'grail' has already been added. I would be grateful for further help.
Joel Brown
After removing it from the Library, did you Update to save your changes?
Helen Brown
Also remember that Accordance uses the files in Documents: Accordance files, even if you originally open them in the Accordance folder.
KevinSoars
After removing it from the Library, did you Update to save your changes? Yes, I did update. But thank you, Joel, for the reminder; it is something I could have forgotten! Thank you for your response, Helen. However, I am not quite sure I understand; so, if I may I would like to check with you exactly what I am going to do! I have now renamed the File, "The Grail Psalms" and I am going to put in Applications/Accordance Folder/Modules/Shared User Bibles. I hope this is correct? Kevin. Helen Brown
Kevin: No, this is not a user Bible (I happen to have seen your module). It is a user tool. You need to put it in your user/Documents/Accordance files/User Tools folder. You need to back up the files in that folder. If you open a new user tool in Accordance from anywhere on your hard drive, it will save a copy to that location. If you reopen a user tool anywhere on your hard drive, it will reload the copy from that location. So this is where you need to go to find, rename, share or backup any tool taht you have edited. The same goes for User Notes and the highlights files. Those shared file folders in the Accordance folder are used in Classic (on the emulator) and for new user bibles, and for the original copies of the other kinds of files when you first upgrade from Accordance 6 or earlier. If you have multiple users on the Mac, you can use them to make a file available to the other users, such as students at a seminary, but normally you never need to go into those folders. Helen Brown
Kevin wrote to explain that he now does have a User Bible of this text. In this case, renaming the file is quite different. You cannot rename a User Bible at all since it is a true Accordance module. The name on the Finder makes no difference to Accordance, it looks at an internal name. You should remove the old one from the Library, and from Modules/Shared User Bibles, and reimport the text with the new name.
