Keeping Old Module (Bible Text)

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I currently have both HCSB and HCSBS installed. HCSBS is the last version. HCSB I've kept at the previous version, as I find it interesting to have the 2004 revision available.

Could I somehave keep this old module untouched, without having to avoid the upgrade every time Accordance checks for updates?

Maybe I could somehow rename it to HCSB_Old or something?

No, there is no way to fool the Check for Updates. At least this givs you a choice, whereas the disk installers would update it without asking.

I've done this very thing--keeping the old version intact because I wanted to be able to distinguish between both versions of the HCSB. Regardless of how much Lifeway has downplayed it by not calling it a second edition, it is a pretty significant revision. We use Lifeway Sunday School literature at our church, and surprisingly, it has not been updated yet to the newer HCSB, so it's very helpful to be able to see the differences in the two editions.

My only fear is that I might one day accidentally let the Accordance updater install the new version, but if I do that, I'll simply pull in the old one from a Time Machine backup.

Ultimately, I'm glad that Accordance offers the user a choice in replacing modules. Granted, that 99.99% of the time, I'm certain that I'd want to update; nevertheless, it's quite nice to at least have the option.
