Paul Daunno Posted November 7, 2010 Share Posted November 7, 2010 I have both "Greek Strong's" and "Greek Keys". Same for "Hebrew Strong's" and "Hebrew Keys". The description on the web site leads me to believe "Keys" is an updated version of "Strong's". Is this correct and if so I assume I don't really need to use "Strong's" since I can use "Keys"? I also have "NAS Greek" and "NIV Greek" as well as "NAS Hebrew" and "NIV Hebrew" which I refer to when I'm using those translations. Each Strong's text has a particular dictionary tied to it: KJVS -> Greek/Hebrew Strongs NAS95S -> NAS Greek/Hebrew NIV-G/K -> NIV Greek/Hebrew Everything else (ESVS, NKJVS, HCSBS, etc.) -> Greek/Hebrew Keys Almost, if not all, of the new tagged texts use Greek Hebrew Keys, and I'd imagine it will stay that way. We just haven't gotten around to updating our older original keyed texts to use them also. So, for now, don't get rid of those tools or the triple-clicking within those texts won't work. I wasn't planning on getting rid of them I was only concerned with whether or not I should use both for a reason that wasn't obvious to me. You cleared that up so thanks! Since we have edited the numbering system, especially in the New Testament to account for words not present in the underlying Greek text of the KJV, we changed the name to Key. This is also why you'll see them referred to as Key Number texts, or the like, since they are a modified version of Strong's numbers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
