"Where is the file for 'ESV Crossrefs' text?"

Greetings!

I just updated my ESV last night. When I attempt to access ESV cross references, I get the message in the topic title. I can navigate through module - tools - and there find a file titled "ESV Crossrefs - old."

Do I point to the old file or do I need to create a new file? (Or is there something else I'm missing)?

I'm running Accordance 9.1 and Mac OS X 10.4.11 if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Bill

ESV Crossrefs should be in /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Tools. You may find it in /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Texts or it may have been left behind in your Previous Accordance folder. All your texts and tools should be correctly allocated to the new folders. Then when Accordance asks for a location (once per module) you can find the module and select it.

Bible Notes and Crossrefs and certain other accompanying files used to be installed to Modules/Texts with their primary module. With Accordance 9 we assign them to the folder representing the type of module, and this is what sometimes leads to the modules going AWOL.

This is the path where I show only one folder titled "ESV Crossrefs - old." Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Tools

There are no other folders under the other two options listed. As I try to bring up cross references, it does not allow me to do so and asks where the folder is located. Worked yesterday before the update so something about the update has knocked it off kilter. Question stands: do I point to the old folder or do I need to create a new folder (and if create new, what do I put in it?)

Many thanks for your expertise!

In Christ,

Bill

Bill, I am having the very same problem. I looked at both locations suggested by Helen, and only the ESV Crossrefs-old shows up.

I'm having the same problem too. I even tried removing the "-old" from the file name, to no avail.

Any suggestions? My beloved Accordance is inoperable...

Blessings,

Robert

There is no reason why any modules should have been relabeled -old. I do not understand why or how this happened. Please contact me directly off forum so we can see what is going on. Skype or iChat are best. You can send me an email or a message with your contsct info.

FYI, I am having the same issue.

I was also having the same issue, but simply renamed the file and did the updates and install again. This time it worked.

Robert Johnson's screen shot is identical to what I'm seeing, and removing the -old doesn't help.

Curiously, I tried downloading the ESV Study Bible package again from my account, thinking it would overwrite and install properly, and it couldn't install it. Got an error that Accordance 8.1 or newer is needed, yet I have 9.1 installed.

Tony, removing the -old and re-running the updates (did't see updates to be done) seemed to fix mine. Thanks!

OK, I just renamed the ESV Crossrefs file under: /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Tools and it now works as well.

Hi Roger... what did you rename your file? And did you have to re-do update or did it just start working?

Thanks!

We are looking into this, but Bill found that renaming the file allowed it to work, and it is the latest version.

No the downloadable module installers do not work in 9 on OS X. You must now use Easy install.

Sorry to take so long to reply Bill. I just deleted the "-old" part of the name and did not have to download again. Hope it works for you!
