Uncial Unicode Export

With the release of Codex Alexandrinus and of the NT MSS Images, there has been more interest in copying the text from the NT Manuscripts into Word or other documents. Of course, we continue to recommend exporting to unicode so that the resulting text is cross platform and not dependent on our fonts.

However, the Uncial font in Accordance (Sylvanus) converts to the Coptic characters in unicode, and these are not standard on Mac or Windows basic unicode fonts. The free New Athena Font is steadily being upgraded and does now include the Coptic characters. Once you install it in your system, it will automatically be used for uncial and Coptic characters exported from Accordance. Here is a test from C Alexandrinus. If it appears as boxes to you, install the New Athena and it should magically appear.

Hello Helen,

Are there any plans to make the Sylvanus font compatible with the Majuscule Typefaces of the Greek Font Society?

They are quite pretty.

Thanks for the tip about the New Athena Font. I was wondering how to export my NT Papyri and make it look decent. That's a good solution.

The short answer would be "No." Accordance really lumps all the Greek fonts together, and all the Semitic fonts together, so it dosn't allow for separate export preferences for Sylvanus vs Helena, or Peshitta versus Yehudit. That would require a lot of programming.
