Better previews

I'd like to see better previews of Accordance modules.

Sometimes it seems to me that the modules are produced only for those already familiar with the print version.

This makes it difficult to get a good idea about what a module has to offer if I don't have access to a seminary library.

The one single screenshot we are usually given doesn't give nearly enough information to appraise the module.

The reviews and blog and podcasts help, but it would be better to have all the information in the same place.

A clear statement of each module's theological and denominational basis would be useful too.

With graphical modules (such as the Holyland Pictures Sale this month) I want to know about picture size and resolution.

For example, your module "The Biblical World in Pictures" does not show a single picture.

We are directed to a review, which also does not show a single one of the pictures.

Having more information about each module and more sample content all in one place would be a good improvement.

Thanks.

While I agree with Alistair and Dan, I recognize developing more extensive previews would require a considerable amount of time on the part of OakTree. Yet it appears to me that OakTree has attempted to alleviate this problem in two ways:

First, I've noticed that the more recently released modules tend to have more information in the descriptions and often have links to related articles on the Accordance website (http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/index.php?showforum=48).

Second, users are being invited to write reviews in this forum on commentaries available in Accordance; links to these reviews are being incorporated into the product descriptions.

Additionally, I usually Google the resource I'm interested in to obtain more information regarding the print edition of that product. It requires a bit more work on my part, but in 5-10 minutes I generally have a much better understanding of the product than I would have were I simply to read even a fairly extensive description on Accordance's website. Also, Dr. J has included some excellent websites for researching products on the Internet Resources page (http://www.accordanc...ernet-Resources).

Of course, better descriptions would help, too.

Thanks for the feedback on this. A couple recs: this Article is an attempt to give a further description of the commentaries we offer. Also, for commentaries see bestcommentaries.com. .
