tlw5560
I keep two tabs open on my workspace. My search window has the NKJ, GNT/BHS, ESV and I have another tab that is the NET, NIV, Msg. I have tried to tie these tabs together so that when I tab back and forth I will be in the same scriptural context. This is not working. On the menu bar I go to windows>set> tie. What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?
Joel Brown
It depends on what you are looking for when you say 'the same scriptural context.' I'll describe some of the abilities below: Tie: This is so that when scrolling one of the tied texts, the other scrolls to that location, if possible. This, however, does not affect the content that is displayed, just the scrolled-to location of that content. [LINK ?] Command: This command mirrors whatever search is entered in the other tab. So, a search for 'Love' in tab 1 will be mirrored in tab 2. [CONTENTS ?] Command: This command mirrors the displayed verses in the other tab. So, a search for 'love' in tab 1, the resulting verses will be displayed in tab 2. I hope this clarification makes sense. The one you use depends on what you mean by the same scriptural context. If you want the same verses, use CONTENTS. If you want them to also scroll together, tie them. If you want the same search run, use LINK.

In version 8 I did not have any trouble with "tying" tabs together. Could you explain what the "tie" function does and does not do? I currently have two tabs functional--The search window with three versions and another tab with three other versions that I reference from time to time. I am trying to keep them all in sync but it just doesn't work any more. Does the "recycle content" have anything to do with my problem? Also, any news on a combo BHS/GNT module or LXX/GNT module that operates in one pane? Been lobbying for this for years--thought I'd nudge ya'll again. Joel Brown
Can you please post a screenshot of both tabs? Also, the other feature is still on the list. We hope to do it as soon as possible, but its all a matter of priorities.

Joel Brown
Thanks for your reply. I think I see the problem. You are in a magnified zone right now, and in 9.2 we disabled tieing while in magnify zone to fix some other issues. However, in 9.3 we've done a much better solution, so when 9.3 is out (should be very shortly) this should be fixed. In the meantime, if you work with this zone in its own, nonmagnified, workspace, they should still tie.
tlw5560
Ahh... a bug. Thanks for the confirmation and work around. Look forward to the solution. Accordance is the most helpful forum I use.
