wkrewson
When do you expect to release the newly revised NIV? Will it be a free upgrade? Thanks.
Helen Brown
We are working on it now, should have it very soon, but sadly Zondervan wants a royalty so it will not be a free upgrade, nor will it automatically update the older NIV that you have now. RichardHendricks
It's things like this that cause me to have a love/hate relationship with Zondervan.
Helen Brown
I think it's a good thing that it won't automatically update the old one. I am sure many users will prefer to keep the old for their regular use, or to compare with the new. As for the cost, a bookstore won't give you a break on a new print version just because you own the old. Zondervan certainly invested a lot in this major revision, and they need to stay in business, too.

I think I now understand why a certain software company in Washington State is having problems getting Zondervan to allow them to allow users to access the NIV/TNIV/NIV+ on mobile devices. Somehow, they were able to get a no fee upgrade for their computer users for the NIV+. I suspect that deal is getting in the way of being able to provide the resources on mobile devices. Again, thanks for providing perspective to this former Pradis user.
John L Rutherford
I, for one, am very glad to hear that the new NIV will not replace the current one on Accordance. Controversy has raged over the TNIV and this new NIV is set address some of the gender inclusive issues. However, whether it succeeds or not remains to be seen and I definitely want the choice to purchase it or not without losing the current edition!
