Triple Click

Is there a way to triple click into NIDNTT from NAS95S?

I do not use the resource palette because of screen space issues and that it covers my workspace.

Currently when I triple click a word in NAS95S it opens up NAS Greek. I have NIDNTT at the top of the list.

Any help or other ideas would be great.

I'm pretty sure it opens to this resource because it goes to the resource keyed to the Strong's numbers. I don't have NIDNTT, but I do have NIDOTTE. While it does have a numbering system, it appears to be different to Strong's numbers. It may also be that NIDNTT doesn't have an article on the word you're looking for so it goes to the next resource you have that does have it and is also organized by Strong's numbers.

I also don't have the resource palette open all the time. When I am in a similar situation I like to just do the key stroke to open this palette (opt-cmd-2; I use just one hand to do this: thumb on opt-cmd and index finger on 2), get what I need to get from it, then close it again with the same key stroke.

For now I have the Greek text open and am just triple clicking on the corresponding word which will amplify to NIDNTT.

But now I have another question.

Is there a way to Link NIDNTT and THAYER to BDAG so that when I triple click on a Greek word they all search for the same Greek word AND also match the MORE OPTIONS set to find Scripture Reference?

Yes to the first question, no to the second.

You can [LINK] NIDNTT and THAYER to BDAG to search for the same Greek entry that you search for in BDAG (I can explain further how to do this if you want), but the MORE OPTIONS are not included. I'm not sure why, I think it has to do either with programming issues or because the 'MORE OPTIONS' from one module to another are not the same or it may be something else entirely.

EDITED Portion:

I just tried changing the 'more options' to search for Scripture in each of my linked lexicons and then triple click to my first lexicon, but it still didn't match the more options of the first lexicon.

Thank you for your response. That is a bummer. I do have the LINK working in all three but it is the MORE OPTIONS part I was hoping to get working in order to make it useful to me.

It certainly would be more convenient to have the 'more options' apply to all the other lexicons, but at the same time, the link command is pretty huge as is. For my general OT studies workspace I have five lexicons linked together. I would want to gouge my eyes out if I had to use hard copies of each whenever I wanted to look up a word or do a word study. Now all five are a single 'triple-click' away.

If you create a Favorite workspace with this set of tools, not linked, can you not simply amplify from the word to the Favorite (in Contextual menu or Resource palette) and have the verse reference option work in each tab? I don't have time to try it, so please report back.

Works for me. I created a workspace with BDAG and TDNT in it, and added it as a favorite workspace. I then amplified to it using the right-click menu (though resource palette also works) and both tools were searched with reference added.

Helen that works great! Thank you.

I am so used to using the zones feature (having everything within one window) I did not even think about having two workspaces open. Worked great.

SO is it possible to have it amplify to a separate workspace, but have the multiple lexicons in separate zones so you can see them all at once? I can't get that to work.

I'm not sure what isn't working for you. My sample workspace has BDAG in a left zone and TDNT in a right zone. I saved this workspace as a favorite. When I amplify to it, both are searched for the word + reference, and I can see both at once. Is this not what you are looking for? Don't forget to resave your workspace if you've changed it after making it a favorite.

But this isn't triple clicking. Personally, I like having everything in the same workspace and not opening new windows when I look at lexicons. I'll keep this in mind as another way of doing things though.

I set up a Workspace with BDAG, NIDNTT, Thayer and Louw & Nida each in a separate zone. One workspace, four zones. I saved that workspace and titled it Greek Lexicons. I then opened the Library Window added that workspace to My Workspaces.

Next I opened a separate workspace called Bible Study with the NAS95 and GNT-T. I then selected a word in the GNT-T and right clicked for the contextual menu to My Workspaces, Greek Lexicons.

When I release the Greek Lexicon Workspace comes to the front. The first Zone (BDAG) has the appropriate Greek word and corresponding verse input in the search window and correctly displays this info, but the other three zones remain unchanged.

However if all four Greek tools are placed in the same zone as different tabs everything works correctly.

Accordance 9.3.1

CORRECTION: I just discovered your advice is correct IF the Greek Lexicon workspace is closed when the amplify takes place. But if I then try to do another amplify search without closing the Greek Workspace the search only occurs in one zone.

Yes, you are correct, the amplify to a favorite only works when opened newly, not when reused.
