SWC
I have a question about the [COUNT -] command. When used with the normal Search range pop up menu... I get results that I can understand. Example: When searching the NAS95S using [COUNT 100] and the Search range pop up menu restricting the search to the Book of Genesis... I get 200 hits. It consists of 2 words that occur 100 times each. So far so good... However when I use the same translation and the same [COUNT 100] but choose to restrict the range with [RANGE Genesis]... the results I get make no sense to me at all. Why do I get 56 hits in the Book of Genesis consisting of 8 words... none of which occur 100 times? Here are the results: Blessed = 3 ears = 12 greatly = 10 kind = 19 linen = 1 possess = 5 prepared = 5 south = 1 Granted I have the Search field pop up menu set at
Joel Brown
Think of the [RANGE] command as a filter. It runs your search across the entire text and then filters the results to what has been specified. So, [COUNT 100] [RANGE Genesis] gives you the words that occur 100 times throughout your text, but only showing their hits within Genesis.
SWC
Think of the [RANGE] command as a filter. It runs your search across the entire text and then filters the results to what has been specified. So, [COUNT 100] <AND> [RANGE Genesis] gives you the words that occur 100 times throughout your text, but only showing their hits within Genesis. Thanks Joel! This makes sense now...
