I'm sure this is a 101 question that I should already know the answer to, but...

If I search for a word and then want to copy a passage from the results, how do I remove the color from the word before I copy it so that when I paste it into my word processor, everything is black?

Because it is WYSIWYG there is no quick answer to that question. You could go to Set Text Pane Display and turn off the color and styles for highlighting. You could do that in a parallel pane and save the window for future searches, so they are highlighted in one pane but not in the other.

The quickest way may be to click in the verse and select Context from the Resource palette. That will give you as much of the passage as you want to copy, without any highlighting of search results.
