circuitrider
I am coming down to the wire to get this on sale. Has anyone used the resources in this package? I can read greek, know some vocabulary but do not have a grasp on the deeper aspects of it. How far will the primer take me? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. John Fidel
I suggest you watch the free videos here http://www.teknia.com/greek-language/course/view.php?id=9 It is based upon an earlier version of Greek for the Rest of Us. It does not have the Accordance interface etc, but gives you a good idea as to the content.
Rick Bennett
By design the first installment of this series is being dubbed the 'Greek Primer'; as such it is designed for those with no, or very little knowledge of Biblical Greek. The future installments will be Church Greek, and Functional Greek. Church Greek will dig deeper into word studies and probably focus on some more advanced grammar. Functional Greek will be about at the level of casual reading, and probably some syntax. All the while Accordance will be tightly integrated into the process and advance as the series goes along. That said, even those with beginning knowledge of Greek would likely benefit from Mounce's pedagogical style, and the Accordance screen casts even at the Primer level. And, it would be a great tool to use for teaching others once you are at a more advanced level. Another advantage of this series is that that core curriculum has been tested in the classroom. He has taught at the 'Greek for the Rest of Us' level and is currently doing so on a regular basis. He really wants this to be the future of learning Greek and digging deeper into Bible study for non-seminary / college students — which is the majority of the church.
