Hi,

I'm new to Accordance. I Previously used Logos Portfolio but got frustrated due to the constant crashes. I have used this product for just over a month and must confess I like the crash free and seamless actions despite being quite adequately loaded.

I have searched the forum for help on a frustrating topic but seem not to be able to find the answer. I want to export bible texts etc into Microsoft Word:Mac 2011. I want them to load into word with an automatic generation of a bibliography and appendix page. I would also like to use the same exporting/formatting process for other texts and tools in accordance.

I've been to Preferences, Bibliography tools, citation settings and played around with the options. I've also messed around with other settings and options.

Has anyone overcomed this issue either through Accordance, Word or Pages?

Or do you have any other solutions for this issue? I look forward to your helpful inputs.

I also wish everyone a Christ Filled Christmas and may His profound peace and blessings flow into the coming year.

I don't believe we currently support anything quite like this. But in order to get a better idea of what you're referring to, can you provide a screen shot of what you'd like the export to look like?

Thanks

Here is a screenshot of a page in the book:

    • Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. [1]

[1] The amplified Bible, containing the amplified Old Testament and the amplified New Testament. 1987 (Heb 11:6). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.

Another page at the end of the book then lists all the references encountered.

Thanks, this helps. This has been requested before; and to confirm, we don't support this currently. We certainly could, but I'm not quite sure where to squeeze it in. None of the citation styles I've researched (including the two we currently support - Turabian and SBL) call for citing Biblical texts by footnote.

But, one possibility could be to add something like this into our current text Citation prefs:

post-5629-0-90793600-1324959072_thumb.jpg

It could then function like a bibliography citation, and insert the text reference as a footnote. It wouldn't include any bibliographic information, but you could select to have the full text name included. This would probably be the easiest way to support something similar until we decided on an option relating to bibliography citations.

Would this suit your needs? No promises on when we could possibly implement it, though.

I'm not quite, sure but very willing to try it out.

Thanks for ur help

Well, there's nothing for you to really 'try out.' I offered a possible solution that we would be able to implement easier than full bibliographic citations for all biblical texts.

If we implemented what I proposed your example would look like:

……

But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].1

1 Hebrews 11:6 Amplified Bible

……

Would this fit your needs (or anyone else reading this)?

Sorry just responding to your question 'Would it suit my needs'.

Once again I'm not sure if it would suit my needs, but I am willing to give a shot at whatever you provide.

It would probably be a step forward and I could do a proper listing with fuller credits at the end.

I am not entirely sure, but doesn't MS Word for Mac have the capability to build a bibliography from the footnotes? (disclaimer: It's been a long time since I've worked with Word, and I've never worked with Word 2011. Yet, I seem to remember that the bibliography manager had the capability to create a appendix bibliography).
