JonathanHuber
Is is possible to search for a letter sequence and ignore word breaks? For example, Romans 7:2 uses the word ὕπανδρος. Numbers 5:20 and 29 in the LXX contain the phrase ὑπ᾿ ἀνδρὸς. In such situations where there are multiple ways to handle a letter sequence, it would be useful to search for that string of letters regardless of the word break. Helen Brown
I don't think this has ever been requested before, and no, all searches are word based so there is no way currently to automate such a search.
Joe Weaks
Jonathan, This has been discussed before. It is helpful in general when exploring Text Critical data, since of course for much of our witness, there are no spaces. If you have your own text file of the GNT, you can then remove the spaces and search for your formal string in this way. Having such a file on hand can be handy for certain things, including GREP searching in your favorite text editor.
JonathanHuber
It is helpful in general when exploring Text Critical data, since of course for much of our witness, there are no spaces. This was the reason for the question. I didn't think this kind of search was possible but wanted to make sure. Thanks for the suggestion, Joe.
