Jonathan C. Borland
What is the projected timeline to make the rest of the Göttingen LXX volumes available for Accordance? I think one thing that keeps Accordance customers from currently buying individual modules is the savings they will forfeit when the discounted complete package becomes available. For example, why buy the incomplete Göttingen modules from Accordance for $630 when you could presumably wait and buy the entire package later on for an estimated discount price of $700 - $900? There is usually the Accordance promise that current owners of modules will receive a discounted price in the future. But is there a specific guarantee, i.e., "Current owners will only have to pay the difference of the future discounted price and the cumulative price they have paid for all current modules." I don't think I've ever seen it stated this way. If it were, I think more would hop on the wagon and buy current modules! Helen Brown
This series is an ongoing project from V and R. We don't know when the remaining volumes will be published, nor how easy it will be to convert their etexts. Therefore we have never given any estimate for the date or the price of the complete series. In the meantime we continue to invest many months of highly qualified labor in the etexting, tagging, and preparation of the text and tool modules for each current volume. We are confident that our modules are the best available anywhere, in terms of an accurate tagged text with markup of the various fields of the apparatus, hyperlinks, etc. This makes them even more valuable than the printed books. Our pricing reflects our attempt to balance the huge costs of preparation of these massively complex modules, with a price that we feel is fair and reasonable. I doubt that we will ever recoup our investment in these specialized modules, but we continue the work as a service to the academic community. If in future we do bundle a set of modules at a reduced price, any modules you already own will be credited towards the bundle, as we have always done with ongoing series. So you can purchase now with confidence that you are getting the highest quality modules at a very fair price.
