Cannot Auto Paste from Widget

Recommended Posts

I have called a few times and done everything I can find on this forum but nothing seems to work. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.7.3 and Accordance 9.5.7 with the widget v.1.6.5.

When I try to auto paste from the widget into either Pages or Keynote it will do it maybe once then stops. I can copy in in the widget then manually paste it, but the auto past does not work. I have trashed and reloaded the widget even gone the library and dumped files that are suggested on this forum and it still will not work consistently. I use this feature and lot so I need help in getting it working again.

Thanks Pat

Be sure to try the latest widget, 1.6.6, as it contains additional Lion specific fixes. If that still doesn't help, let me know.

Joel I downloaded the new widget. Trashed the old one trashed the preferences so I would do a clean install and still it does no auto past into pages. It copies it in the widget so I can manually paste but no auto paste.

Have you checked the Troubleshooting in the Widget Read Me, and specifically have you Enabled Access for Assistive Devices in your System Prefs?

Yes I did all of the troubleshooting that is in the Read Me. That is where I got the info on trashing the preferences. Yes I have enabled Access for Assistive Devices checked. I have called a few times with all the same advice and it still does not work.

Joel will need to contact you directly, but it will probably have to wait until Monday.

Pat,

All the features of the Widget are working except for the pasting feature?

What is your system language?

Joe not sure what you are asking unless you mean language as in English? If you are talking about a computer language I am not sure.

Hi, Pat,

Yes, I was asking what system language, as in English, French, etc.

I'd be really curious to see what your problem is. You didn't respond to the other part: It's only the pasting function that's not working? All the other features/functionality of the Widget are working fine?

Have you tried the Auto Paste in different apps? Pages? Word? TextEdit?

The problem seems to me it is somewhere in the clipboard function, or in the UI scripting component of the Widget workflow (hence the question about your system language).

Your keyboard is the standard keyboard layout, right?

Do you have any kind of clipboard utility running that monitors or stores the clipboard history?

Sorry for not getting this in sooner busy week. Yes it is only the "paste function" that is not working on the widget. It will work for one paste then stop I can hit copy then manually paste it. I have tried it in pages and keynote don't have office installed anymore. I use auto paste a lot it works in pages for me. This all stated with my upgrade to Lion, I now have a new MacBook Pro and it still does not work. I called in a few times and got the answer of you need to uninstall, trash preferences etc.... I have done that dozens of times with the only success being on auto paste then I have to do it all manually.

My keyboard is standard with a MacBook and I do not have any utilities running that I know of.
