Bob Kuo
Hello, I think it'd be useful if when we copy a selection of non-contiguous Scripture as citation (e.g. John 1:14,18) the citation should contain an ellipsis at the appropriate place. So with John 1:14, 18 in the ESV it would read: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.... No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side,he has made him known." Bob

Anon
The SBL Manual of Style dictates that ellipsis should have a space before and after, as well as intervening spaces. Thus, " . . . " is proper style and "..." is not.
