Hide Modules

First off, great work with version 10. It's outstanding.

 

I'd love to see the addition of a feature to "hide" modules in my Library. Right now, the only way to do this is to "Remove Item," which, not surprisingly, removes the module from my Library (though it doesn't actually delete it from the hard disk, which, personally, I appreciate).

 

The problem I run into is when I purchase a new module and go to Easy Install. Any modules that I've removed from the Library show up as being not installed and the software wants to download them again. I then have to go through the download list and make sure to check only what I want downloaded and installed or I have to download and install everything and go through the "Remove Item" process again.

 

It seems to me that it'd be easier if there were an option to "hide" a module. Then one could potentially "show all hidden modules" as well. My work-around right now is to create my own folder of modules in each category (Texts, Tools, etc.) called "Hidden Modules" where I put all of the (many) modules I don't use. This allows me to see what I have that I actually use and reduces the clutter, but it's still a bit clunky since I have other folders in my categories as well ("Greek Texts" under Texts, for example, etc.).

 

Any chance this is already in the pipeline? Would anyone else appreciate such a feature?

This is a good suggestion. I agree. In a package there are some works you don't want.

Along the same line, I have a few demo and sample texts that are superfluous. But if I delete GNT-TD (for example), I am prompted to download it. I not only wish to hide it, I do not need to retain it on the SSD or HD backups. They are small files, but they do take of space that I might want later.

The work around is to delete the actual file (~/Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Texts [or Tools]), but leave the module in the Library Window (the one in the Accordance program invoked by icon, menu or cmd-opt-1). As long as you do not try to open it for the latter, the space occupying superfluous file is not missed. I think Easy Install looks at the Module Installation Log in Accordance Preferences, so it thinks you have unwanted demo or sample module installed, even though the corresponding file has been deleted.
